First thing to mention is the Neris BigFun Exp isn’t the sort of packraft that you pack in your rucksack for a 4 – 5 day packrafting / hiking expedition.
This is a PVC packraft and has its plus point along with it’s negative points.
Neris are a Ukrainian company with dealers here in the U.K.
Neris design and make really good quality foldable kayaks and have recently moved into the packrafting world with there extremely durable & robust packrafts.
Currently Neris only produce PVC packrafts with TPU packrafts hoping to be available in spring 2021.
There is plan to put the same designs of there PVC packrafts on the market by the end of the year in the lighter TPU material.
I have been sent 2 packrafts by Neris.co.uk
The BigFun EXP and the JustFun WW.
The weight of the pack is around 9.3kg. This includes the raft, cockpit, seat, inflatable floor, Thigh braces, bag, repair kit and foot rest.
So if you are going to setup out of your car this is the packraft for you.
If your looking for a hire fleet or packrafts for a training centre this range of packraft will last due to its PVC construction.
The Neris BigFun EXP is one of 3 variants of the Big Fun range.
The other 2 being the standard packraft and White Water variant.
The Neris BigFun EXP (expedition) is a expedition raft with a removable velcro cockpit.
There is plenty of adaptability when you want to carry bags. By either adapting the footrest area with one of the accessory drybags or tying on top of the raft using the d rings on the bow or the stern.
Setting up the Neris BigFun EXP.
Setting up the packraft is fairly simple. There’s no messing around with an inflation bag as the packraft comes with a foot pump.
It takes about 10 – 15 minutes to setup. The BigFun packrafts are built with a over pressurisation valve.
This needs to be set to open when you are inflating it.
This then allows the over pressurisation at 3psi and when its closed it is set to 5psi.
What needs to be inflated?
So theres the packraft of course, the floor, seat and the foot rest.
The final weight of the Neris BigFun EXP all setup is around 6kg.
Fitting the cockpit is fairly simple anf then you are ready to paddle!
Compared to other TPU packrafts, like the X1 by Aqua Xtreme or the Alpacka Caribou. You sit fairly high in this packraft which takes a bit of getting used to.
But the advantage to this is its gives your a better http://www.riggedandready.netpaddling position as you are much higher.
The BigFun EXP paddles and handles really well. Strapped into the thigh braces gives you a lot of control and stability.

Fishing from the BigFun EXP.
This packraft is so suited for fishing. it is really stable, handles well and built like a bomb shelter.
With the added possibility of adapting this packraft to suit your needs this packraft will suit you for all types of fishing.
Using something like the Rigged and Ready X5 adventure travel rod kit this packraft will be landing loads of fish.
I am currently working with Neris.co.uk to design a purposely made packraft (based on the BigFun EXP for fishing) . WATCH THIS SPACE!!!
