Review of Renjer wild game jerky. People that know me well know that I love jerk and biltong, in fact there biltong drying by the fire as I write this.
It also gives me great pleasure to say that Renjer have asked if I would like to become one of there ambassadors. I love the face that these products are organic, made from wild game and perfect for your outdoor bag.
When I was visiting South Africa I was introduced to Biltong and since then I have been eating dried and cured meat.

I’ve been making my own jerky for about 6 years now and a bag of jerky / biltong is always in my bag whether its a hiking bag or a work bag.
I came across Renjer on instagram and it wasn’t long before a few bags of the jerky where here ready to try.
This jerky is wonderful, full of protein, full of flavour and the taste takes me back to those Northern Swedish Hikes.
Tasting the Elk jerky transported me to a rock close to Kebnekaise where I was sitting watching Wild Reindeer last year.

Renjer was established in Lund, Sweden in 2017 by 3 friends. Initially starting with one product (Reindeer jerky) they now sell multiple products worldwide.
All the meat used in there jerky is game meat.
The animals are sourced as close to the factory as possible which reduces then carbon footprint.
Game meat is healthy.
Wild game is lean meat being low in fat and naturally high in protein.
Reindeer meat contains high amounts of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.
100 g of reindeer meat contains the recommended daily dosage of Omega-3 and Omega-6.
Additionally the natural diet of the reindeer has high amounts of vitamin B12, selenium, zinc and iron in the meat.
The process of making jerky is a very simple method really and meat has been cured like this for thousands of years across the globe.

Personally I don’t think that you can get a healthier animal that has eaten organic food from the arctic tundra and lived a wild life then a wild reindeer.
Renjer in the UK.
With the Iron curtain of Brexit falling around the shores of the British Isles currently it isn’t easy (and sometimes not cost effective) to bring items into the UK from Europe.
Currently Renjer aren’t shipping to the UK but all of Renjer’s products can be purchased from ScandiKitchen within the UK.
You can also purchase some other fantastic Scandinavian products from them such as Herrings, Meatballs, Salt Liquorice sweets (sounds disgusting but I love them) to name but a few.
Renjer Wild Game Jerky: Products available.
I’d really recommend buying a some Renjer Wild Game Jerky and keeping them in your bag. Thats if you can keep the kids away from them.
