I was sent a link concerning this Omnia oven less oven by a friend.
Then after a couple of emails one of these portable ovenless ovens is winging itself from Sweden to my door.
What a great concept a portable, lightweight stove top oven.
The concept of the Omnia oven is quite simple. The three-part Omnia utilises heat from the stove and generates both top and bottom heat.
A circular aluminium food container with center hole sits on a matching stainless steel support thatsits on the heat source.
The heat spreads along the bottom of the food container and as it rises the specially designed lid with ventilation hole diverts the heat over the top of the container.
What is it?
This oven is to be used on a most stoves. So using in a camper van is a perfect way to give you more ways of cooking.
I am going to try this on my Frontier Stove.
Or if your out camping the Onmia Oven is lightweight (as long as you have the space to carry it).
So you can enjoy some baked meals.
Due to the design of this oven you wouldn’t be able to use it over an open fire.
There are many additions to the Omnia oven you can purchase.
Like a silicone muffin ring or a foil baking dish so the recipes you can cook in this are endless. There is even a great recipe book you can purchase for more ideas.
Baking is really easy in this oven so things like bread, croissants and pastries can be cooked easily.
Cant wait to review this product.
Let me know in the comments on what to try cooking in it first. I am thinking of trying a South African curry Bobotie first but let me know if you have any ideas.
