This handmade trout nets by EdenMADE is a tool which is also a beautiful work of art.

I came across EdenMADE on instagram and was also recommended one of these handmade trout nets by Andy from Rigged and Ready Travel Rods.

Why buy one of these handmade trout nets by EdenMADE when there’s cheaper on the market?

Yes, there are cheaper nets. You can buy a metal fabric mesh net of the internet from under £15 that will land a fish. But by purchasing one of these nets you are carrying a work of art specifically made to land your fish.

All the nets from EdenMADE are handmade and I feel really honoured to carry mine.

The feeling I get from pulling the net of the magnet and scooping the trout takes me to a different era.

Where you can imagine standing by the river, fishing with a cane rod and a wooden net!

Each net is completely handmade by Roger Taylor in his small workshop. Rogers workshop is located in the Eden Valley, Cumbria, about 1.5 miles from the River Eden.

His workshop over looks the beautiful English Lake District.

Construction.

The mesh is fish friendly rubber, quick drying, doesn’t smell.

One of the great things about this mesh is that it doesn’t snag your hooks. These nets are ideal for catch and release angling.

The handle is slightly longer, to give you that extra reach and can be made from almost any wood.

The hoop is a laminate of Ash and Sapele, polished to 2000 grit, with a homemade beeswax and oil finish.

I chose to have the Leather and solid brass magnet and lanyard loops attached to my net. The last thing you would want is to lose it down the river.

The packaging is 100% recyclable and comes from a village 7 miles away, further along the Eden Valley.

The amount of work which goes into each net from EdenMADE means that it will take some time from when you order your net to when you receive it.

This just shows the amount of work that goes into each net.

The bending, glueing, shaping, setting all takes time but the end product is absolutely beautiful.

Currently there a three nets being produced but custom orders can be made.

You can see the amount of work which goes into these nets it therefore means that the price tag matches the amount of work needed to produce these works of art.

The net that I chose was the Wild Trout and it took around 3 weeks from order to delivery.

The Wild Trout Net retails at £120 which personally I think is a really good price for such an amazing piece of work.
