Access
Access is easy by road and train and with 3 international airports within 2 hours from the town getting there is easy.
We had visited the town the night before for something to eat and the following day we had chosen to head back into town and head up the hill.
I’d recommend getting here early as car parks soon fill up. We took the double chair lift up. Known as the railway lift (this is in two sections) to the top of Szrenica at 1309m.

As we started to ascend passed the tree line I could understand why the lift operator had said the lift might be closing soon.
I was also glad I had put on a thermal base layer underneath my Revolution Race Gpx Pro trousers.
It was really cold due to the wind at the top. As we reached the top we were in the clouds and the wind was freezing.
Visibility was really poor so I mentioned that it would probably be a good idea to take the chair down to the next section and walk from there.
We took the chair down to 884m within the trees and conditions where a lot better.
So armed with micro-spikes and poles we headed North West down the mountain then branched South West following Kamienczyk River to the waterfall.
We headed up to the water fall and found a really nice little mountain restaurant that had an open wood fired grill in the middle.
Here they where grilling typical smoked Polish sausage and my favourite Kaszanka which is similar to the English Black Pudding.

Had to have a Beer both it all and you can’t have a beer without Smalec and bread.
Smalec is basically pork dripping with onions and spices served with slices of brined cucumber. It doesn’t sound all that appealing but it is one of my favourites.

We found a small track in between the trees that headed down the mountain so we followed this back into town.
All in all this was a simple walk, micro-spikes definitely needed in the winter. I was so glad I had brought them when we went to visit Adrspach.
